Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of SHODH.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using SHODH AI ("SHODH"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Notice.

2. The service

SHODH provides AI-generated strategic research reports based on web sources gathered and verified at the time of your request. Reports are provided "as is" for informational purposes and do not constitute financial, legal, or investment advice.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit, for keeping your account credentials secure, and for using the service lawfully. You must not submit briefs intended to harass, defame, or unlawfully profile a specific individual.

4. Billing

Paid plans are billed via Razorpay. Refund, proration, and cancellation terms are pending legal/finance review (LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED).

5. Data protection

SHODH processes personal data as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). Full detail on what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and who we share it with is set out in our Privacy Notice, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using SHODH, you acknowledge that:

• Where we rely on your consent to process a category of personal data, that consent is collected separately for each distinct purpose and you may withdraw it at any time via your account settings or the Data Rights Request form, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
• You have the rights of access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal, and nomination described in the Privacy Notice, and may exercise them at any time.
• If a research brief you submit contains personal data about a third party (for example, a named individual at a company you are researching), you are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to have SHODH process that data on your behalf, and SHODH processes it solely to generate the report you requested.
• In the event of a personal data breach affecting you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities in line with our breach-notification runbook (see BREACH_RUNBOOK.md — LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED for the notification timelines actually owed under DPDP Rules).
